Rent and manage servers from different world-leading cloud providers all through one and the same easy-to-use interface. Configure them automagically, and scale from local to global in minutes.

Select the cloud providers that fit you best

The first step in getting an application online is renting a server from a cloud provider. Nowadays, there are several popular options, such as Google, Amazon, or Microsoft, to only name a few. Each cloud provider has its own offering with its associated advantages and disadvantages. Based on your budget, geographical location, and resource needs, you can choose which cloud provider fits you best.

However, software developers usually do not want to put all their eggs into one basket, especially not when building large-scale applications. But, renting servers from different cloud providers implies that you have to use different control panels on different websites. This makes it hard to keep an overview of the state of each server and slows down maintenance.

Smoothy eliminates this nuisance, by enabling you as a software developer to rent and manage your servers from different world-leading cloud providers all through one and the same easy-to-use interface. This way, you prevent vendor lock-in and are free to decide which cloud providers fit your budget and resource requirements best. If you, at a certain point in time, want to migrate to a different provider, you can do so, all via the same familiar interface.

Automagically configure your servers

Small to medium-sized applications usually run on a single server, while high-traffic business-critical applications need a more advanced hosting solution. In the latter case, different servers, optionally spread across multiple geographical locations and cloud providers, are grouped together to act as one large system. Based on your application's needs, Smoothy obtains one or more servers from your preferred cloud providers, and automatically configures them as single Docker servers or as a highly-available Kubernetes cluster.

Scale from local to global in minutes

The traffic an application receives is usually not distributed evenly. This leaves you as a software developers with a dilemma. On the one hand, you can rent plenty of servers so they will be able to handle traffic spikes. However, this will result in a high cost. On the other hand, you can rent only a few servers, so you keep their costs low. However, during traffic spikes, the application might suffer downtime.

To resolve this problem, Smoothy enables you to scale your Kubernetes clusters and Docker servers up and down with a single click off a button, or automatically based on CPU usage. This allows you to keep your applications running at peak performance during unexpected traffic spikes while reducing costs during quiet periods.

Issue resolution on autopilot

Servers are prone to a lot of different failures, which can often take up several hours to detect and resolve. Based on the role of the server, the applications that rely on the server might be unavailable during this period of time. To minimize this downtime, Smoothy permanently monitors the health of your servers. Whenever a server fails, Smoothy will automatically start provisioning a new one, kill the old server and reschedule the applications. After a few minutes, your server will be completely self-healed, like nothing ever happened.
